Type Quick App

Version 1.1.0 (20220824) based on Govee API v1.8
QuickApp compatibile with HomeCenter 3, HomeCenter 3 Lite and Yubi Home hub

Allows to get information and  controll Govee LED lights:

  •  on-off state
  •  color
  •  brightness
  •  highlight/illumination level of Govee color led lights

Uses Govee HTTP API to controll a device. Connection goes via Govee cloud.
Govee API set some limitations for connections:
  • can get and set only data listed above
  • support only 10 requests per minute, more is ignored and the light does not respond to changes (QuickApp shows warining when limit is exceeded)
  • for RGBiC lights can set common color for all the segments, and when color is changed via Govee APP - QuickApp updates only when same color is set for all segments
  • due to a bug in Govee API (2022.08.24), QuickApp cannot show White Temperature mode when it is set via GoveeApp (when White Temperature is set from QuickApp, all is fine)
To connect you need to set QA variables: GOVEE API KEY and DeviceID.
  • API Key can be obtaind also via Govee mobile app (go to My Profile -> Settings -> About Us -> Apply for API Key, and wait for email)
  • DeviceID is id similar to MAC address, that cannot be obtained from Govee APP. So you can put ther simple numbers, as 1,2,3, which refer to number of device attached to your Govee account. If you have one device, just put "1". Enter "2" if you want to connect to second device. List of devices is available at Govee App. After proper connection, DeviceID variable is updated and full ID number of device is put there by the QuickApp.

QA type is Color Controller (same as RGB Controller) so can be used in block scenes and profiles. It is set in  RGB mode by default, it is not recoimended to change it to RGBW.
Depends on version of HomeCenter and version of HomeCenter app, QuickApp can be displayed in different ways. As set of scrollers for R, G and B chanlles, as color wheel or color picker.

Govee API is supported by following Govee devices with Wifi connection enabled:

Hi, I have Govee Outdoor String and it only controlls white color. In Yubii I see no RGB controlls. Is there any fix for it?

Hi, I have Govee Outdoor String Lights and it only shows white control, no RGB controls. Do you know how it could be fixed?

Hi Albert, as mentioned before I have uninstalled the QAs - so no more logs. I have a total of 9 devices installed - so maybe that‘s the reason the call limit is exceeded. The QA_INET_CHECK is for checking whether the internt connection is still alive for the HC. Cheers Alfons

Mr. Lieser. Please send me more complete logs to smarthome @ hdev.pl . Logs you listed below refers also to other QuickApps you have installed in your system. So it is not clear what causes the problem. For example logs from "QA_INET_CHECK_1866" were generated by other QuickAppa you had installed, I do not know what is it. Govee API makes limits to max 10 calls per minute, for read and write. This is very high restriction. And if you have more than one Govee device in your system, this limit is for sum of the whole communication. Each change of light done by the QuickApp cause a call, each read is a call. So 10 calls per minute is really low. This problem cannot be solved by the QuickAppa. Anyway - I waiting for logs.
